The first photograph is oddly enough, the main road into this area of swamps and marshes. These huge pines are part of the typical Lowcountry woodlands. Pine straw from them is everywhere.


The dirt roads here travel over dikes, through woods, and between swamps. There are thousands of acres like this, dirt roads run for miles. There’s about a 99.9% chance you will see wildlife along the way and a 100% chance something is watching you photographing the landscape.
