This is a small piece of the crazy goings on. There were another 50+ in the rookery getting all worked up.
These are big birds, almost as tall as a person, and those huge beaks were snapping loud.
When one group would finally settle down something would happen in another.

Watching this I shot a good number of photographs (big surprise). I have started to go through them trying to break it down into small segments. This was the most Wood Storks I’ve seen all together in one rookery.
A bit like our Belgian parliament on certain days…
This would be civilized with our current government. A total embarrassment, the ‘rise and fall’…..
I try to be careful when it comes to American politics, it seems to be a very sensitive topic, and the level of division looks quite concerning from the outside. I do hope things turn out well as soon as possible.
I try to be careful too. Because I live in the south the politics is ‘different’ than what I believe in. Sooner or later, probably sooner now that prices are rising fast things will get more interesting. Both my wife and I were lucky and successful before we retired. So we can, for the most part, sit back and watch. Ironically the ones that supported the current situation and the very ones that are now getting hurt. Being a Vietnam veteran, and lived through the 60’s I see problems on the horizon.
I have never published anything political on any site I’m associated with, this is the most I’ve probably ever said. 😊. Patience wearing thin……
I get that. Sometimes the best option is to step back a bit, spend time in nature, enjoy the birds and wildlife around you, and let things run their course. These situations tend to sort themselves out over time, even if it doesn’t always feel like it in the moment. Take good care of yourselves, both you and your wife, and have a nice day, Ted.
