One of the first monuments / Headstones in a Charleston SC cemetery. Mid 1800’s this town was one of the wealthiest in the US. Planters and traders could not spend the money fast enough, and it was all about showing others your wealth.

This stone was created by the famous Tiffany & Co. They did so  much business here they opened an office in Charleston.

This all changed a few years later with the US Civil War. If you walk to the back of this pond, look over the marsh, you can almost see the exact spot that started the whole fiasco.
