Ledge Light

An unknown Coast Guard officer wrote the following in the crew’s log on the last night before the automated light system was installed: “Rock of slow torture. Ernie’s domain (the ghost of a light keeper). Hell on earth—may New London Ledge’s light shine on forever because I’m through. I will watch it from afar while drinking a brew.”

These have been published before as part of the Church Of The Good Shepard project.

In 2015 we worked on multiple projects photographing cathedrals and old churches in various countries. One of my favorites was right on our back door, the Colt Firearms built Church in Hartford, Connecticut.

This is part of the Sebec river as it runs through Milo. Three rivers meet here a little further on. The area is known as Three Rivers.
