Osprey On A Palm

Many of the Osprey have taken advantage of dried out Palm trees. The flat top makes a perfect spot for their large nests.

Because the trails along the dikes are higher than the marsh you have a much better point of view for nests like these. Best of all the birds don’t mind since you are not too close.

Mating Display, Great Egret

The Great Egrets are in full display. The plumage and mating dance is like nothing else I have ever seen.

Each bird does the same ritual moves, but they all have their own moves. Which is probably why I have photographed this hundreds of times.

This image is the primary display of the breeding plumage. Stretching and dancing are also part of the display.

How could a little girl Egret resist.

Little Blue And Reflections

This bird was getting his breeding plumage. In the right light they are almost iridescent.

This was taken near Merritt Island, Florida. There more Tricolored Herons than Little Blues which is not what I had expected.

Glare was a constant problem in this location. It did help with reflections if I was at the right angle.

Glossy Ibis Hunting

I can tell a Glossy Ibis from a White Faced Ibis because a Glossy has white on their face…

They are pretty much the same unless you are an Ibis whisperer.

These birds are common along the entire US East Coast just not where I happen to be at any moment.
