The Great Egrets are in full display. The plumage and mating dance is like nothing else I have ever seen.
Each bird does the same ritual moves, but they all have their own moves. Which is probably why I have photographed this hundreds of times.
This image is the primary display of the breeding plumage. Stretching and dancing are also part of the display.
How could a little girl Egret resist.
What a beautiful sight.
There is an entire ritual dance to go with it. In a busy rookery there can be trees filled with Egrets on display. I took a few like that recently and will publish a few soon.
Beautiful. Love the framing of the brush behind.. awesome
Thanks a lot. This time of year it’s hard to choose just what images to publish, show, etc. The large birds are in full force now. Last week alone I must have shot 50 – 75 different breeding pairs, and species. Thanks again.
Splendid shot!
Thanks. They are in full mating season now so the opportunities are photograph them are amazing.
I like your writing too. “How could a little girl Egret resist”.
Thanks 😀😀. Never miss a chance to tell a story about nature. A person can spread the word about protecting wildlife, conserving nature, without ‘preaching all the time’.
