From a walk around town.
At one time this section of town was right on the harbor. Over time the inlets, and streams running through Charleston were filled in. Land here changes with every storm and Charleston has changed with the hurricanes as well as how the repairs were done.
Our French Quarter is no longer warehouses (at one point owned by French merchants and seamen). Now we have galleries, old restored houses, and restaurants… lots of restaurants.
Authentic
Charleston is filled with history like this. It is still a city of old buildings, alleys, and cobblestones.
