Grave yard markers from the 1800’s in the southern marshlands are very different than the old New England methods.

Many are lined with carved stone outlines, both around the grave and the entire site.
Just something that makes the old cemeteries here stand out as unique.
Many edging stones here in the UK have been removed to make maintenance easier. Those are very distinctive
I’ve never seen anything like these except in the old southern cemeteries. They are also near the above ground graves. Those are common also. This grave yard is located near large marshes. New Orleans, Savannah, and Charleston have the 3 old cemeteries that are famous. All look similar, this one being the most obscure and away from tourist.
