Heron, Bear Island Marsh Trunk

Heron, Bear Island Marsh Trunk

Is this image a work art, hardly. However, it’s a good depiction of what can be seen out in a marshland.

This is on a dike separating two old rice fields, now gone back to marshes. The grasses grow high, thick, and green.

A Tricolored Heron took up residence on the boards of a trunk, the water gate.

Here is a scene, slice of time, not seen by many. There is nothing else even near here.

A tiny piece of Bear Island, Wildlife Management Area, ACE Basin, South Carolina.

Note; ACE Basin is often referred to as ‘One of the last great places on earth’.  Not sure who first penned the description but it has stuck over the years.
