In years past whenever I traveled to the south I always noticed the Railroad tracks running through town. It was something I associated small rural towns with.
Actually the last place I lived up north had an old track over the Main Street. It was rarely used.

I can’t say there are more in small towns down south for sure, but I do know everywhere I go has one.

Personally I think the old signs and tracks do make a nice B&W image.
Very good for me to know those. Thank you.
Images look almost familiar to the scene on Main Street in the town my daughter lives in, where just a couple days ago, I pulled up alongside the railroad tracks with my grandson so he could see the on-coming choo-choo go by. 🙂 What we do for our grandkids…… ❤
It’s something I always associate with small towns in the south… ‘In The Heat Of The Night’ type towns.
My first view of this was in Tupelo Mississippi. Now I notice it all over. Not in Charleston proper, but the outskirts and in every small SC town.
