At Pickens Courthouse

At Pickens Courthouse

Behind the old church in the town of Pickens Courthouse there are a few past residents burial sites.  Just a few though, many were moved.

The town is no longer here. All that remains is an old simple church and a small grave yard.

Note; and correction! The site we looked down on was the Oconee Nuclear station. Difference is one stores old uranium, the Oconee uses it for power. Still…why were we that close???

The security boundary stretched 17 miles in all directions from the site.  We were on a hill looking down on it. How does that happen?

We actually could see the site from where the old church sat. Security saw us too. I’m sure we were on camera.  A security truck came by slow, checked us out and left.
