The building of Mr. Joseph W. Wimberly.
The old structure was besides railroad tracks in a small South Carolina town. I thought it would photograph well in B&W so I took several shots here.
A little digging and I found Mr. Wimberly owned a fertilizer company (I assume that’s why a building at a RR yard) and a diary farm.
Much more than that though. He was on the Board of Directors for SC Farm Bureau, Dorchester County Farm Bureau, was a trustee for the St. George public school and served on the Soil Conservation committee. He was a charter board member of the First National Bank of St. George.
In general the type of neighbor we don’t see much of any more. He passed at the age of 94.
I hope they leave his name up a while longer. Places things in perspective here.
The silos are lovely!
Proves there images everywhere, thank you.
