For me the best Spoonbill photographs include a few birds mingling together. Too many and the image loses perspective on a subject, just one and (sorry it sounds jaded) it’s like dozens of photographs we have taken before.

I prefer to catch them ‘doing something’. It’s nice to get a pretty pose, but some type of action makes the images interesting.

Here I was standing off on higher ground as a bird flew in to join two others. Just a little movement made the photos.
I’d take these beauties posing or in motion 😊. But I do know what you mean.
That’s exactly why I can publish new images of them all the time. Find a spoonbill, fill a memory card 😀
