What was once an extraordinary house, in a South Carolina small town. It still is, just needs a little work.
Driving by it was like a magnet. Was the Pigeons in the window?

First and second floors were occupied, maybe even part of the top.

I take that back, the upstairs was definitely occupied.

The last thing that caught my eye, and demanded we stop and explore was the guardian.

A gargoyle watched over the unkept hedges, protecting anything inside the fence.

It’s in a poor southern town. Help is not coming.

What a gorgeous house! I love the details you captured. That gargoyle is the best!

I’m surprised at how many houses just like this are already across South Carolina. So many a photographer I know has used the theme for gallery shows and a book. Thanks.

Really? I hope they aren’t all vacant.

Some are, some occupied. Outside the 3 counties around Charleston South Carolina has a low income, poverty high, education low. That goes along with the run down Main Street photos I take.

That’s really unfortunate. Such a rich history.
