I’m not sure if this gator was out to get some sun, or away from the stifling vegetation.
It has never been this thick in my 5 years walking here.
I guess the Gallinule (Moor Hens) like it though. They can walk on top of the leaves and never get their feet wet.
BTW, people have asked about these old wooden ramps. The story is worth repeating.
The owner of the property (and others around) built them specifically for the Alligators. The idea was simple, give them a place to get out of the water… and off any trails used by people.
Well, now the gators have more options.
You can’t fool mother nature.
