The other day was the Hunter, Harvest, Somebodies, full moon. Ellen is the night time landscape person. I’m the tag along. Looking at maps and an App she determined the moon would rise right over the Ashley River and down the hills of old Middleton Plantation. Off we went.

Above, and below, are the old stairs and path running right down to the slopes to the Ashley. The sun was setting behind making nice shadows. The old bricks here are from the main house burned during the civil war.

Below is the old right flanker building from the path. The main building had ‘flankers’, smaller builders, on either side. Only one remains.

Finally the moon did manage to make an appearance.

Not great, too dark when it ultimately showed up. Still it’s a full moon over the Ashley and marsh on a nice fall night. We live right up the road so dinner was not late at all.
