There is a middle option between the lick ’em tattoos of our childhoods and the permanent adult ones. At the beach in Maine where I used to go some summers, they offered henna tattoos that last for a couple of weeks. That was good enough to satisfy my early teen son one year when he pestered me to get a tattoo. 🙂
Hmmm, tempting. A no pain tattoo drawing, until I get home.

That’s right, forgot that. In NYC (years ago) old beat up flat bed trucks came around with carnival rides bolted to the back. Absolutely death traps, but no rules back then. Lickem tattoos and little rubber hoses you blew in for duck noises were the ‘primo’ prizes.
