Taken in a local swamp area, not far from an Egret rookery.
A shot like this can be good, or bad. No happy medium I don’t think. The dark trees in the background should make the big white bird stand out. Here it does. However, I find other times if the focus slips off even a little the contrast makes getting the target back much harder, focus is off.

I’ll always take this shot if I can, no matter how many I may have over the season.

I find the more consistent the color is in the trees the better I can keep focus with shots like these – get some variance in greens or hit a darker spot and the AF greets it like a long lost relative.
