I had this photograph of an interesting cemetery spot. A line of the old Confederate head stones, two of the newer VA markers.
No matter what I did with this shot it just didn’t work for me. Finally I opened the image in DxO Filmpack and selected the option to work within a timeline, not any particular type of film stock.
Finally I came across a dated style from the late 1800’s. The style is based on a photographer from that era. I went with it and made a few changes for clarity and texture, basically made it cleaner.

Thanks. At one point the town of Charleston decided this area should be for cemeteries. Churchyards were full, people still died, and the Civil War came along. So there are all kinds of old places to wander and make discoveries.

Thanks. I used DxO Filmpack to find an accurate photograph look for the late 1800’s. An interesting program where you can select a general look, like a preset, by either film name, product, or date. It can be used as a stand alone or plugin for any editor. A one time buy, around $ 90 US. It’s a useful tool for any everyday editing.

It really is. While it does interface with Lightroom, Photoshop, and ON1 you can only work with a single image at a time if you want to pass files back and forth.
