The national news has been filled with an image of a poor Alligator breathing through a hole in the ice. South Carolina has a few right in the Charleston area.
Here is a photograph taken in the Donnelly Wildlife Management Area. This particular Alligator had a spot large enough for his head.
This is the second set taken early evening in Milo, Maine. We had just enough light left for these photographs.
This is part of the Sebec river as it runs through Milo. Three rivers meet here a little further on. The area is known as Three Rivers.
Two photographs in the early evening. There was nothing planned about this, we were passing through and jumped out of the car.
We were coming from a wedding and had all of our gear in the back. All we did was grab ‘some stuff’ and run around by the river while we had a bit of light.
When we crossed the tracks here we found abandon gas stations. Not unheard of.
It was interesting that the empty gas stations were directly across the street from each other.
At some point there must have been enough traffic to support them. Now, both are empty, as well as the street.

Even today, every front porch in my neighborhood has rockers. It’s a southern thing.
I have had an old rocker like this for over 30 years. But I’m not leaving out on my porch !
Does a series like this make you uncomfortable? My style certainly doesn’t help. But when I take these photographs I am certainly focused on the ‘rust and ruin’.
