Stones Found On A Walk
Another small series of headstones taken while walking through an old cemetery.
There’s always damage in places, and that’s just part of the stories here.
Also many stones and monuments add some personal history rather than the new marble slabs in use now.
Below is a good example of a stone with a story. Apparently Dr. Brodie had two military careers in a short time span. First with the US Army and then with the Confederate States Army. Stones with stories are always a great find.

Cooking Out Back, Monochrome
With all the historic buildings and sites around Charleston this is the only ‘kitchen’ I remember seeing.
For a long time food was prepared outside, and it didn’t matter if it was a manor house like here or a small cabin. Also laundry, that was not in the main house either.
Both cooking and laundry required a fire burning constantly, and in the south it’s plenty hot already without that.
Below is a quick shot captured as I walked through a back building of an old house in Charleston.
