Little Blue Heron Deep Water

A few more steps forward and he could touch bottom. It was pretty funny to watch though.

The Little Blue Herons will start to arrive in the small rookeries in a month or so. These antics will soon be common.

Blue Heron House Repairs

I did not see any eggs, but the house keeping and later low sitting makes me think there are.

Something I see, but never considered before, is a heron standing up and stretching their legs. Like we would do after a long drive. Makes sense. They have long legs and sit in one position for a long time. Sometimes it’s like an exercise video. I need to photograph that soon.

Wood Duck In A Tree

Wood Ducks are notoriously hard to photograph, even more so finding a male in a tree like this.  The are one of the most colorful members of the duck family.

I would have like to get a few different angles and light but this was it, without swimming with the alligators. I was more than happy to take it.
