If you visit or dig around here you will know my fascination with the old homes in Charleston. It’s an old town and filled with more history than I had expected.
My idea of history has always been based on New England and New York. There is so much more here it is amazing.

Homes pre-civil war here have many of the same details as northern manor houses.

This desk / book case I have found out is considered one of the rarest, and most expensive in the US. Interesting that is was made here rather than Boston. All fine furniture was made in Boston and New York at the time.

In many of my photographs you will see the old family paintings. They are one of my favorites and show up somewhere in most of my work if I find them.
