This day all the locals, birds and gators, were out and moving around.

I tracked this Great Egret because you never know what will make a good photograph. He was far enough to make a decent wider shot.

The bird pulled back a bit quick. I had expected a soft glide.

Ha ! What I didn’t see at the time was a very big ‘nose’ in the reeds.

Lucky, he did.

Note; I remember reading a photographer should always take a few extra shots in a series. You might miss unexpected drama. 

The context of the discussion was sports, getting the goal, but missing the celebration that followed. It holds true with wildlife too.
