While I was shooting down the cut with a long lens Ellen was moving along the marsh edge to get a closer view. Food must have been easy since only a few flew off.
After a while I moved down the marsh but Ellen found a spot down low and spent quiet some time with them.
Taken near Magnolia Plantation marshlands along the Ashley River. The back side here may be part of Runny Meade Plantation. (Just discovered this marsh is called Perry’s Pond. I think it’s named after Perry Nugent a Charleston native and well known bird expert.)
