Great Egret, Marsh And Ashley River

Great Egret, Marsh And Ashley River

The far end of this marsh can be a great spot, and make you work for the shots.

This is a smaller marsh separated from the Ashley River, and old rice fields, by a large dike. It’s old and looking along the sides it’s hard to recognize there’s a dike, it’s big and wide. The land is owned by Magnolia Plantation (hence the rice field) with this being the far end of their property.

Below is from the small side which has woods that block the sunlight early in the day.

What you have lately is enough water (fish) and shade. Birds love it when it’s low. Reflections and critters make this worth the long walk out.
