A few photographs taken on a walk along ‘Perry’s Pond’ by the Ashley River. This location has probably looked like this for (hundreds of) years.
At some time in the past this became known as Perry’s Pond. A nice name for it too. Perry was a local naturalist and fairly well known author who would walk people around the area, point out every bird, seen and unseen.

Above Egrets sunned themselves on an open stand of reeds and cane. I also might have given them some protection from the chilly breeze that day.

A view from the ponds edge along the wood line. The sky was busy with Swallows.

And last, no marsh pond would be complete without some resident Alligators.
