An experiment that worked out OK.
The other day we were overwhelmed with alligators. No walking anywhere except the dirt road on the main dike.
Towards the end of the morning I noticed the small marsh island had most every dry spot covered in Alligators. There are approximately 17 on the waters edge, a few in the reeds, some in the water. There were others all on the dikes and the other marshes either side of this.
Below is a panorama of 3 images stitched together by Lightroom. Best viewed as large as you can.

Makes a successful panorama. It reminds me of a sign I saw once in a preserve in SC … ‘Alligators May Be Present’ … there were gators everywhere!
😂🤣😂, that’s the official SC state warning sign. Makes me laugh whenever I see one. They hang them everywhere. Thanks
I wondered if you took this at a preserve near Edisto? That’s where I saw the sign and a bunch of gators!
Edisto is about 20 miles north of here. That area is filled with with alligators, even populated Edisto. The geographic name here is ACE Basin. Named for rivers that flow through marshes to the St. Helena Bay. ACE means…Ashepoo river, Combahee river, Edisto river (ACE).
There are also 100,000 acres here of conserved/trusts/preserved land. It’s the largest of it’s kind. In short, you were in the perfect spot for the sign and tons of gators, 😁😁
Gator resort 🤗
A city….
