Southern Government Buildings
I have this small group of photographs taken of local South Carolina government buildings. Basically a few images that caught my eye, none taken with any thought of what to do next.
Now I know, throw a few in the same article since they are worlds apart.
The first here is a grand old building, designed by a world famous architect. The odd thing, it is a small county court house, his other buildings are in the US capital and other large cities.
Above is city hall, Manning, South Carolina. It’s perfect. A re-purposed building on the towns Main Street. No pretense, it fits nicely.
Last is another county court house. I don’t know much about this building, bit it is imposing. Maybe that’s the idea. Going to court…maybe jail.
Exploring Charleston, Monochrome – Black And White
A series of photographs taken while out exploring town. These are all pre-Dorian (Hurricane) by a week or so.
Most of our normal routes to and around the swamps/marshes are either blocked or under repair. Charleston is just plain ’soggy’.
For these buildings the latest storm is just one of many.
Charleston has seen hundreds of hurricanes (war, earthquakes, and fires), there are unlimited stories around these streets.
While the coastal Lowcountry dries out we plan on exploring some of the towns and forests a little inland.
I also will publish fewer articles for the web site. Releasing five or six a day can require we start with hundred of photographs to get the final images.
On A Deserted Corner
This is exactly why I go out to shoot Main Street on a Sunday.
No one walks into a shot.
Most times a car doesn’t make me wait.
