The plantation gardens that I walk through have small paths, almost hidden in places.
The gardeners know them all and take great care of all the various plants and trees within. For us it’s just a matter of wandering around until you find something like this.
As usual, no clue what it is.
One of those shots where the light on the swamp gives an unexpected color to the background.
Up north it was the House Sparrow everywhere. Down here it’s become the Yellow-rumped Warbler.
One of those moments when you do a double take.
Not the first time seeing Alligator antics, so we just walk on.
Just one came in close this morning, the others almost out of sight.
Anytime you can visit with one it’s a good day.

These Snowy Egret were getting along with the small Herons just fine. However, they rarely can not argue or fight among themselves.
It begins with the ‘puffed up’ display and strut.
The marsh was very low here so there was plenty of fish and space to be apart. Most of the aggression was simple display.
True to form a little later a few couldn’t help but chase each other around. It’s a Snowy thing.
