There are always new nooks and cranny’s to find in cemeteries. This was in a corner I’ve never visited before.
I’m not sure if the ball was his or not.

Winter Stones
The last day of January, and it felt like it too. When the wind comes in off the water even here it feels cold.
Dark clouds made for a good day to visit old cemeteries. Actually one area not so old for a nice change of photographs.
As usual most everything is B&W, Ilford 35mm film as the model.
Directly above is from the old Magnolia Cemetery, civil war era. Headstones and wrought iron getting more worn all the time. The head stone was broken in half, now leaning against the base.
All the photographs here composed to view how the depth and focus should be set on lines like these. Images like these are so much different than wildlife, there is still a learning curve with the new gear on this type of work.

Big Heads Collection, Alligator – Monochrome
As is always the case in winter the big guys have gotten less press.
So to keep them in the flow I put together a small collection. All the images are recent head shots (hence the title) since they were all images too close or at a bad angle to get a decent full body photo.
Monochrome fits these critters well too.

Swans, Black and White
I have read the bigger plantations kept both Swans and Peacocks. They were loud, aggressive, a way for planters to show their wealth.

Charleston, South Carolina is an old historic town with lots to see, and photograph. I think these images were taken along a single street.
Basically I’m a constant tourist.
Below is a converted carriage house, complete with a Vespa. I’ve seen this before, with a different Vespa.
Next is a shot I grabbed passing by one of the art galleries that are on every corner.
The house is under renovation, so I’m not peeping in peoples windows.
Last is one of the many stone fences that line the side alleys on most streets.
