Common little water fowl that are not ducks, but can swim just as well without web feet. Their long toes have many round protrusions that work they same way.
When I see them it’s always are at a distance. So when I found large flocks close up during our last trip to Florida I took my time and captured as many as possible.
Not what I expected at all. Personally I am not a fan of the sky in typical monochrome landscapes. I find it dark, no contrast, basically takes away from the overall photograph. Just my opinion.
I first started this because I was already working in DxO Silver Efex. Ultimately this came about. I liked it.
Sunset, and most landscapes still are best in color, but I should try monochromes more often.

The ‘other’ Ibis.
I see far less of the Glossy Ibis than I do the White Ibis. These shots are even more appreciated since the sun was showing all the vivid coloring.
Similar to the idea some days you see everything and others you draw a blank, different species are like that for me. Tricolors were missing, but we finally had some luck.

Most of the recent Egret photographs have been against the early sun. These were shot further down the same trail. The difference being I had the sun on my left, not in my face.
This bird was leaving the water, flying up into the rookery cypress trees.
When dodging around the sun, looking to hide from the glare, I try to stand behind the shade of one of those big Cypress. It limits my field of vision but if the sun is too bright you have no vision in the view finder. I was lucky the Egret flew up and not further out into the swamp.
For some reason this Pelican was going the exact opposite direction as all the others.
That’s unusual, White Pelicans are the ultimate team player.
